Assisted Breathing Technique
This is a healing session in which you support your client into deeper fuller breaths, It is very relaxing. You can also use it as the beginning of a longer session such as medical qigong.
1. Belly. Facilitator places their hands over the belly. One hand on each side, like holding a ball. Feel the chi ball. Invite the client to breathe in the belly. Exert a little pressure by pushing slightly to meet their breath.

4. Kidneys. Facilitator reaches all the way around to tuck the hands under the ribs and hold the kidneys. You have to lean over to reach! Hold the kidneys and encourage the client to breathe into the kidneys, expanding into your hands.
|
5. Rocking the body. Facilitator gently rocks the body side to side. Find the rhythm that feels natural for this body. This should relax any holding patterns that they have and lull them into deeper relaxation.
|
6. Completion. Bring hands back to the belly and just "listen" to the flow of their breath as they breathe. Do this for a while, then slowly lift your hands off the body and leave them to integrate for a few minutes.
